TURNER Creates Chicago Architecture Foundation’s New Annual Report

CHICAGO, Illinois, June 2013 – The new Chicago Architecture Foundation’s 2012 Annual Report celebrates CAF’s wide range of programs and events and their key role in connecting people to the power of design. The annual report was created by I AM TURNER.

“CAF believes our city is a dynamic classroom bursting with stories of discovery and imagination. Our education programs teach us there’s a lesson around every corner. This annual report will show you where to look,” wrote CAF President Lynn J. Osmond in her opening letter.

In 2012, CAF completed a new strategic plan with eight far-reaching goals to ensure the organization achieves its new vision. The plan challenges CAF to become a driving force in the city – as a leader, an educator, and an ambassador – and champion of the idea that Design Matters. The annual report is the start of igniting the design conversation.

The report introduces CAF’s new Vice President of Learning Initiatives Christian Greer, provides a look at CAF’s 30-year-old Newhouse Architecture competition for CPS high school students and details CAF’s new website, Discoverdesign.org, that gives students the opportunity to work on real design projects and get feedback from volunteer architects.
